The Beginning
February 4, 2007
Dating, wow that’s a small word but it’s hard and i know that there are millions of people out there who share the thoughts as me. I am not your regular Don Juan or a Dating god but i did have my fair share of dates and relationships. So why am i finding that hard, simply put all fo that happened way back when i was still in school. It was easier back then, everyday your on campus and you see hundreds of women walking by, you can judge them on their looks, actions, reactiong, what books they are holding, which group they are hanging around with etc… and with that kind of information you would settle for the person you think you would enjoy being with and go for it and hi if it doesn’t work well that’s not a big deal you can look for another person.
But after finishing my studies and moving to Kuwait, things well things were different. Dating, partyies, and that kind of lifestyle is a little bit hush hush there, you’ve got to have the right connections in order to get into the right places and trying to meet people in public well long story short don’t go for it, it is not going to happen and it’s a waste of time. And furthermore the kind of women whom i would be able to meet in public back there isn’t the kind of women i would want to be with anyway.
You might tell me “Why don’t you go for online dating?” Well i did but :
- I got tired from always answering the same old questions about what kind of music i like, why my favourite movies are and where i like to go for supper. And it’s always the same laundry list, i get to say the same exact things over and over again until it became so bad that i have begun cutting and pasting from one e-mail to another, or one IM to another.
- Again in Kuwait male and female relations in public are really not favourable, it is an islamic country and thus has rules against this type of thing, so if i was to get into an online relationship with someone online it would have been very difficult, because simply you wont be able to meet anywhere or anytime you want, and you would always feel as if someone is watching you from behind your back, and that’s not the kind of relationship i would like to go through.
But that’s not to say i didn’t meet interesting people online, i did meet a couple of people thati grew extremely fond of, but our relationships got to a point where words and promises didn’t mean much against the need to feel physical affection and wanting to be with each other which led to breaking up in the end. I stopped online dating at that moment, because at this moment in time i am still trying to establish myself as a person and start a good career and i don’t have the resources to relocate and start a new life in some other country, and nor were the people whom i have been with online able to do the same.
It is all good, enough with the complaining already i bet your extremely bored at this point.
So I got a job offer in Bahrain and i decided to come over here and start my life. For me Bahrain is at an intersection point with Lebanon and Kuwait, It is not as liberal as Lebanon when it comes to dating and relationships but it is much better than Kuwait, and financially speaking salaries aren’t as high as in Kuwait (at least for people who are starting their careers) but it is much better than Lebanon. It took me a while after getting here tog et adjusted to the place, knowing how everything works around here, and how i should control my spending but yeah well .. things are going well at the moment.
So last week i took the decesion that i don’t want to sit home anymore thinking of the person i would want to be with, i would rather go out and meet people and hopefully find that person. And yeah i am going to write about it online
online dating might be hard but under the right circumstances it can work out easily.
So if your reading this and would like to go out on a date send me an e-mail at : bahraindating@gmail.com
Or if you look at the bottom left, there is an online IM client built in to this website which you can use to chat live with me whenever i am online (i am online fairly often during the day because of my work)
Have a good day everyone
Until the next post!!
PS: I have a blind date on Wednesday Night, cross your fingers everyone i hope it goes well.

I agree about the dating life in Kuwait. Dating is way easier in Bahrain.
Good luck with your blind date. I’ve tried it once and never will do it again! ;P

G:- Yeap i agree with you to an extent. As far as blogging goes this is not my first time blogging, have been blogging for two years now but i never really managed to hold onto a blog for long enough … here is my other blog http://fractal00.com.
As for hanging in there and focus on my career and job well …i am doing that but i am the kind of person who doesn’t work well without friends in his life that is one of my primary concerns at the moment. Dating and a relationship can come through that not the other way around:)
And thank you for the offer of giving me tips about Bahrain something tells me i am going to hold you up to your offer
